A 1993 episode of The Simpsons showed Homer Simpson hitting a dance move that Olympian 'Raygun' appeared to use during her breakdancing routine

The Simpsons appears to have done it once again - with fans claiming that they have predicted another viral moment. Australian breakdancer Rachael Gunn shocked the world with her routine this past week, but did not impress the judges with her scoring a zero in all three of her rounds due to her unique performance... with one part in particular looking alarmingly similar to Homer Simpson's back in 1993.
The Simpsons has a long history of 'predicting' future events that have come to pass from episode aired decades ago, with fans joking that Gunn's dance is the latest.

Australian breakdancer Gunn, known as Raygun, became one of the most talked-about stars of the Paris Olympics due to her routines - including hopping like a kangaroo and yawning at her opponents on Friday night.
While her performance didn't impress the judges, viewers at home immediately had taken to social media to comment on the routine - with some finding comparisons to Homer Simpson's dance in front of Mr Buns and Smithers in an episode over 30 years ago.
In the episode entitled 'Last Exit to Springfield', Homer becomes president of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant's trade union and leads a strike to restore their dental plan to avoid paying for Lisa's new braces. After successfully leading the union through negotiations, Mr Burns agrees to their demands, but only if Homer resigns from his role.
After Homer agrees, he lets out one of his 'woohoo's' before dancing and running around in a circle when on his side - which Raygun had done for a brief second during her performance.

Many were quick to point it out on X, with one writing: "Raygun nearly performed as well as Homer," as another had said: "Good to see Homer's moves make it to the big stage."
While many had criticized Gunn, she stood behind her routine and insinuated she had no regrets.
She told reporters after her performance: "All my moves are original. Creativity is really important to me. I go out there and I show my artistry. Sometimes, it speaks to the judges, and sometimes, it doesn’t. I do my thing and it represents art. That is what it is about."

She went on to state that she knew she'd have little chance in competing with her opponents if she had a more traditional routine, wanting to be unique in her performance.
She added: "I was never going to beat these girls on what they do best... their power moves."
