Filming of a new TV series following Jeremy Clarkson as he renovates a Cotswold pub is being regularly interrupted by giant military aircraft thundering overhead, MailOnline can reveal.
Cameras keep having to stop rolling at The Windmill pub as some of the world's biggest military transporters fly directly over on training exercises from Brize Norton, Britain's biggest RAF base, which is just 1.5 miles away to the south.
The constant military flyovers at the country inn have led locals to speculate that the star rushed into the £1m deal to buy it without realising just how close it is to Britain's biggest military aircraft.
Clarkson - who has already joked that he only discovered there is a dogging spot nearby after he bought the pub - was on site this week filming.
And MailOnline witnessed several attempts to shoot a segment for the new season of his Amazon Prime hit show Clarkson's Farm - which is expected to be largely based around the pub project - have to be abandoned because of aircraft noise.

The 64-year-old star could be seen standing on a new decking area of the pub pointing at the sky trying to do piece to camera as a giant Boeing C-17 Globemaster III aircraft passed directly overhead just a few hundred feet above him.
One local, a regular in The Windmill before it closed and Clarkson purchased it, told us: 'Everyone around here is speculating that he didn't realise quite how close the planes come - or how low they are. And how deafeningly loud.
'We've all read that he bought the pub in a rush - he was open about that. And it'd be just like Clarkson to only find out after he'd bought that he's got Brize Norton as a neighbour.
'His actual farm is something like ten miles away, so he's maybe not twigged that plane noise is a bigger issue around here.'
Another local who witnessed the aircraft interrupting the filming said two planes had gone over last Wednesday within a few minutes of each other.
He said: 'The first plane went over at about 2 o'clock. There was no warning - just the sudden noise.
'Clarkson was out on the decking when it happened doing a piece outside with his co-star Gerald in the blistering heat that day.
'The plane immediately silenced everyone on set. There were about four cameras pointing at them and it immediately became obvious that filming was pointless.
'Everyone just stood there looking at the sky as this colossal plane swept overhead. The noise just went through you.
'So the scene was set up to do a re-take and then it happened again just ten or 15 minutes later.
'The crew tried to take some words from Clarkson as this thing was thundering overheard again. He was pointing at the sky doing retake after retake.'
The local added: 'They are so low and so loud. They just appear from over the trees with this ear-splitting thunder.
'The noise when they are directly overhead is terrifying. The sort of noise that makes you instinctively duck. And they are absolutely enormous - like jumbo jets.'

Other C17s took off from Brize and circled away to the south during the afternoon, not flying directly over The Windmill, though the noise was still loud enough to prevent filming
C-17s, which have a 170 ft wingspan and are used to carry troops and military equipment, regularly take off from RAF Brize Norton's main runway.
Some which are heading east initially circle around to the north which involves passing almost directly over The Windmill before returning to the opposite end of the same runway.
Clarkson has been working flat out in recent weeks to get the Cotswolds pub up and running - and filming much of the process.
Frequently accompanied by his partner Lisa Hogan, he has been trailed by scores of cast and crew from Amazon's Clarkson's Farm which is currently filming its fourth series.
MailOnline revealed last month how Clarkson was so intent on securing a deal for the pub that he offered the owner almost £1 million for it within minutes of meeting her - and then paid an additional sum to terminate an existing lease for it.
Jackie Walker, 79, who opened the pub in 1983, hadn't even put the pub on the market - and was stunned to be told of Clarkson's interest which accelerated into a finalised deal within minutes of their meeting.
Clarkson bought the freehold to the pub, and it isn't tied to a brewery, so he can realise his dream of selling his own beer and produce from his farm at the venue.
The Windmill is set in five acres of Cotswold countryside with stunning views across the Windrush Valley - around ten miles from the TV star's famous Diddly Squat Farm base.

Once the pub is fully refurbished the couple intend to run it in the same manner they operate their Diddly Squat shop, with produce from the farm
Despite early challenges finding staff and teething problems with a 'loft full of dead rats' and 'illegal' lavatories, Clarkson remains committed to getting the place back up and running promptly - writing that he still has a wedding reception to host 'in a couple of weeks' time'.
He also jokily wrote that after buying The Windmill he discovered that there was 'a famous dogging site in the area'
The former Top Gear presenter has said he envisions a 'fun' and homely pub with bar billiards, darts and a garden - and a place he can go on a Sunday with his granddaughter for gammon, egg and chips.
'Well-priced, British-grown food with a pint of Hawkstone beer,' he suggested in another gentle plug for his own brew.
The veteran journalist is part-owner of the Cotswold brewer that makes Hawkstone lager, added to his growing portfolio in 2021. It uses barley grown on his nearby Diddly Squat farm.
After getting involved in brewing, Clarkson wrote: 'I just needed the pub.'
He described the difficulty he had had finding the right pub before settling on The Windmill.
He 'obviously' could not buy his village pub, he said, as 'the locals would set fire to me'.

RAF Brize Norton is the UK's largest military air base, home to 5,800 service personnel, 300 civilian staff and 1,200 contractors.
The air base, some 1,200 acres in size, is home to some of the largest air transporters, air to air refueling and military parachuting aircraft in the RAF.
The Boeing C-17 Globemaster III, Airbus A400M Atlas and Airbus Voyager all operate from RAF Brize Norton.
